Data center problems - login impossible |

Sadly, one of our two data centers which are housing Catan and PlayCatan related servers encountered a major technical problem at around 1400-1415 hours CEST. Due to this the PlayCatan website is only partially available, while http://my.playcatan.com/ is completely unreachable.
The PlayCatan forum is accessible, and whoever is still logged into the forum can still post new messages. However, after logging out or closing all browser windows, logging back in will be impossible - this is as well true when trying to log into the Catan Online World.
Update 2145 CEST (posted at 2230): The problems are solved - PlayCatan is fully operational again, including COW, forum, and the free browser games. We apologize for the inconvenience!

New Catan Online World Client Version 2.358 – Especially for Mac Users |

As of today, a new version of the Catan Online World client is available for download. Windows and Linux users do not have to install the new client because the automatic update function of their earlier client version has installed all previous updates.
If you are a Mac user, and you use Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard“ on an Intel Mac with Core2Duo processor, it is highly recommendable that you download and install the new version because it will significantly improve processing speed when interacting with Java SE 6, which is now available for 64-bit Intel Macs.

"Realm of the Desert Sons," the newest board game by Klaus Teuber, has been adapted for the Catan Online World. Finally, it can be played in English language as well - we apologize for the delay.
Until the end of May, everyone registered at PlayCatan will be able to play the game. Starting in June, access to the game will be reserved for players with Premium Accounts.
It is easy to learn how to play the game, and if you like, you can run a mini tutorial while you are playing. However, you may need to play several times to reach a more profound understanding of the game.
Hence our recommendation that prior to your first game you take a look at the quick guide, to be found here at PlayClatan under Help/Service -> Instructions, and/or let Prof. Easy and his helpers introduce you to the game at www.profeasy.de (currently available in German language only).

"Realm of the Desert Sons", the newest boardgame by Klaus Teuber, has been launched inside the Catan Online World. However, currently it is playable in German language only.
Right now we are working hard to make it available in English as well real soon. We will inform you right here on this page as soon as the English version is online.

On Thursday, April 17, after finishing the current test phase, you will
be able to play the English version of Klaus Teuber’s new board game
“Realm of the Desert Sons” in the Catan Online World! (The German
version can be accessed one day earlier.) The game for 3 to 4 players
will be available for all users by the end of May.
