Important Functions: Voting on Expansion, Gold Distribution, City Information
The Town Hall is the political center of each city. The Council Members and the Mayor hold their meetings here, and the citizens can view important communications and reports here as well.
Lobby
When visiting the Town Hall as a normal citizen, you will arrive at the lobby.
You get a brief description of the room by clicking on the Info Table. If you click on the Public Announcement, on the left, you can choose between the following lists:
1. An alert, if the City Guard is receiving insufficient support and the safety of your city is no longer guaranteed.
2. A list of the Council Members.
3. An overview of the donations to the City Guard.
4. A list of the new arrivals and departures of citizens during the last week.
5. The city’s current Building Project.
6. Important announcements from the Mayor.
7. An overview of the distribution of the city’s gold.
Council Room
Only Council Members or Mayors have access to the main room of the Town Hall, the Council Room. In the Council Room, important decisions are made which have impact on the fate of the city.
1. City Info
Here, the Council Members receive information that is not available to the normal citizens of the city. The Council Members are responsible for the conscientious dissemination of this information.
2. Voting on the City Expansion
As soon as one city expansion is finished, the voting on the next city expansion begins. This voting lasts for a week, and each Council Member can give his/her vote for a particular expansion. A distinction is made between Production Buildings and Cultural Buildings. While the former are explicitly distinguished by type and selected one by one, the Cultural Buildings are constructed in a fixed sequence. The Council can therefore decide if it will build a particular Production Building or the next level of the Cultural Buildings. During the voting period, donations for the city expansion are automatically invested in the next Cultural Building. On the second day after conclusion of the voting, the donations go into the elected expansion. In case of a tie, the Mayor’s vote counts double.
3. Distribution of the City’s Gold
This function is only available to the Mayor. By means of a list of inhabitants, he/she can selectively distribute the city’s gold among certain citizens of the city. What the gold is used for is up to the Mayor. For example, it can be used to support citizens in need, or for City Tournaments.
Important: This is made public via announcement, to avoid nepotism. Therefore, the Mayor should deliberate well how he/she wants to invest the city’s gold.
4. Sending an Announcement
The Mayor can send important info to the citizens of the city (for example, an alert regarding the barbarians or the announcement of a City Tournament).
